A night at a hotel, a drink in a pub or a coffee in a restaurant or waiting room is to be associated with comfort, safety, hospitality, relaxation and cosiness. Everything matters here, especially the contract textiles. First of all, they fulfil an aesthetic function, giving each interior a unique character, but also practical wherever guests are.
Our commercial use fabrics
In places intended for commercial use, fabrics must meet strict requirements. Therefore, what matters most is the strength of the material, resistance to dirt and the ease of keeping it clean. In such places it is easy to get stains and dirt. Another important feature of contract fabric is abrasion resistance, otherwise known as the martindale test. The results of a martindale test show how much wear and tear a fabric will take before there is a noticeable change in appearance. The higher the score, the more durable the fabric is. The scores below show how suitable a fabric is for different upholstery uses:
- 10,000 or less rubs - suitable for decorative use
- 10,000 to 15,000 rubs - suitable for light domestic use
- 15,000 - 25,000 rubs - suitable for general domestic use
- 25,000 - 30,000 - suitable for heavy domestic use / commercial low traffic
- 40,000 or more rubs - suitable for commercial high traffic / public spaces.
A well-chosen fabric significantly affects the perception of the prestige of the commercial facility. It is the frame and the culmination of the knowledge and work of the leading designer, as well as the dreams and requirements of the investor. Perfectly matched textiles bind the interiors into a coherent and harmonious whole, which translates into the comfort of use.
The fabric influences the building of the mood; therefore, every effort should be made to choose the perfect textiles, both in terms of functionality, design and adaptation to the nature of the object.
One thing is certain, at Edgar Textiles, we provide fabrics with which you can build your original style. Regardless of whether the design requires a new pattern or a special colour or adaptation to an existing design, our contract fabrics always fulfil your task.
